Lilian Thuram (Guadeloupe, 1972), renowned international ex-footballer, was a 1998 world champion and UEFA Euro 2000 champion, both playing for France. He recorded many achievements with other teams as well – in Italy he played for Parma and Juventus. When he retired from the sport, in 2008 he started the Lilian Thuram Foundation, Education Against Racism (www.thuram.org), which is dedicated to fighting racism and educating new generations to build a truly multi-ethnic society. A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2010, Thuram has also written two books: Mes Etoiles Noires: de Lucy A Barack Obama (2009) and Pour L'Egalite (2014).
