Visconti

Luchino Visconti (1906-1976), the film and theatre director and screenwriter was adored while alive and turned into a cult figure after his death. He is considered as one of the most influential figures in world cinema. After starting as assistant to Jean Renoir, his directorial debut came in 1942 with Obsession, followed by La terra trema, held to be of a masterpiece of Neorealism.

Faloppa

Federico Faloppa is Programme Director for Italian Studies at the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Reading and is a consultant for Amnesty International on hate speech and counter-attacking the language of hate. He also collaborates with the Associazione Carta di Roma, the NGO COSPE and the Alexander Langer Foundation. He investigates the representation of minorities in the public and media discourse, migration and political linguistics.

Serra

Michele Serra was born in Rome in 1954 and raised in Milan. He started writing at the age of 20 and has never wavered from this career path. He writes for the newspaper la Repubblica and the magazine L’Espresso. He has written plays and works for television. He founded and edited the satirical weekly Cuore. With Feltrinelli his publications include: Il nuovo che avanza (1989); 44 falsi (1991); Poetastro.
